9:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Rural General Public Shuttle Routes

Tar River Transit has in place two Rural General Public routes that provide transportation for any citizen living in Nash and Edgecombe counties.

For a fare, residents that live in county areas can ride to and from these areas such as those below from within the city limits of Rocky Mount.

  • Nashville
  • Spring Hope
  • Castalia
  • Middlesex
  • Tarboro
  • Pinetops
  • Conetoe
  • Whitakers 
These routes are available Monday – Friday and also follow the same holiday schedule as the regular fixed route buses. The origination of each route is at the downtown bus station located at 111 Coastline Drive in Rocky Mount. Brochures for these routes are available in the downtown bus station and can be viewed on the Rural General Public Shuttle Page. All vehicles that provide transportation for both Nash and Edgecombe counties are wheelchair accessible.

Night Shuttle Routes

Travel with Tar River Transit night shuttle in the evening for work, school and/or recreation. The Night Shuttle program services destinations within the city limits of Rocky Mount as well as both Nash and Edgecombe Community Colleges (including the Tarboro Campus). The Night Shuttle is convenient for employees of Pfizer and QVC.The service will be provided if the remote destination is within the city limits of Rocky Mount. This Night Shuttle is accessible and affordable. Tar River Transit vans will be used and all vehicles used will be accessible and accommodate all people.

 

Tar River Transit has transportation services available in the evening on weekdays. Tar River Transit’s paratransit service will pick up the scheduled passenger and take them to their destination. See the night shuttle page for fares and times this service is available.

Passengers can also schedule a return trip as long as the trip is before 12:00 a.m. midnight.
